MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

PK EDUCATION

RETURNING IN 2027!

A new initiative by PK Productions, connecting current college students with young arts professionals in the midst of establishing themselves in their respective fields

RETURNING IN 2027!

By young artists, for young artists.

Our namesake, Pat Kautter (PK), championed the arts as a tool for connection and personal growth among her students. She impacted hundreds of lives not only by teaching young artists, but by investing in them.

We built our PK Education program as a direct response to the feeling of isolation that accompanied graduating from our respective college programs. As young adult artists, we spend so much time competing with our peers that we don’t see how much we could learn from each other.

Applications will reopen in 2027!

What does our program do?

PK Education’s Mentorship Program connects aspiring artists with early-to-mid-career professionals in their respective fields, providing a safe space for honest and specific advice, fostering a culture of mutual respect, and setting the stage for professional relationships they’ll carry with them into their careers.

We support aspiring artists in three primary ways:

  1. mentorship by early-to-mid-career artists currently navigating the industry
  2. free and low-cost workshops, accessible from anywhere
  3. showcase and production opportunities

So…

how does it work?

Each completely free 6-to-8 week session culminates in the realization of a creative project that helps each mentee prepare for their logical next step. Whether it’s a film script to produce before graduation, a series of sketches for their SNL packet, or a collection of new songs for their book, the program is designed for each student to walk away with a tangible piece that will help them bridge the gap between their formal education and those uncertain years after it concludes.

a letter from our director of education…

SOFIA SANCHEZ

Pursuing a career in the arts can often feel overwhelming, and the path is rarely – if ever – straightforward. But when I first joined PK Productions, I was immediately welcomed into a community of artists who were eager to create, collaborate, and support one another along that path. That sense of community is at the heart of everything we do, and it is the foundation upon which PK Education was built – ensuring that a career in the arts is not something you have to navigate alone.
What excites me most about this program is that it is completely free and accessible to young artists, with no fees or strings attached. As young artists ourselves, this program is rooted in mutual growth. While our mentors offer relevant, up-to-date insight, they are also continuing to build careers in their fields. We hope this mentorship program provides an inclusive and welcoming space for industry guidance, creative exploration, and new friendships.
We welcome you into our PK Productions community and look forward to supporting your work, celebrating your successes, and growing together as artists and professionals. Thank you so much for being part of this exciting new chapter!
